DROP-TEST METHOD
To conduct the tests all notebook cases were sent to an INDEPENDENT testing lab, Pack Edge Development, to perform free-fall drop-tests. Each notebook case was equipped with a laptop mock-up weighing 5 lbs and dropped from a desk height of 30 inches. A PCB General Purpose 1-Axis Accelerometer was used to measure the G-forces generated upon impact. A lower G-force rating means better laptop protection. Each case was dropped 5 times to obtain a proper statistical average. This test was completed on January 23, 2008.
